The ASBJ submits papers on virtual currencies for discussions at the April 2018 ASAF meeting

The ASBJ submitted the following two papers on virtual currencies for the “Commodity loans and related transactions” session during the Accounting Standards Advisory Forum(ASAF) meeting scheduled in April 2018:
1. Agenda Paper “Accounting for Virtual Currencies”
The ASBJ will share its experience in developing PITF No. 38 Practical Solution on the Accounting for Virtual Currencies under the Payment Services Act, issued on 14 March, 2018.
Moreover, the ASBJ will share with ASAF members issues to consider for the discussions relating to the accounting for virtual currencies under IFRS.
The ASBJ hopes that the two papers contribute to the international discussions related to the accounting for virtual currencies.
